Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Strategy 2025-2030 – Consultation

When released in 2025, the Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Strategy 2025-2030 (MHAOD Strategy) will be the new guiding document for Western Australia, across community, government, non-government and the private sector, that sets the vision for the mental health and alcohol and other drugs systems, services and supports for the next five years.

The new MHAOD Strategy will set the whole-of-system priorities for both mental health and alcohol and other drugs over the next five years.

A Discussion Paper has been developed to guide the consultation process. It has been informed by a range of previous national and state consultation activities; national and state strategic documents; a review of current programs and services; guidance from the Mental Health Technical Advisory Group and the Alcohol and Other Drugs Technical Advisory Group; and targeted engagement with members of the community and government, non-government and private organisations and service providers.

Register for a workshop

A series of community workshops are being held which aim to capture a wide range of voices.

Please note there are limited places available, and an expression of interest process will be undertaken to determine attendance and maximise diversity at each workshop.

Workshops will run for approximately 3 hours.

Following each workshop, a short session specifically for consumer mental health lived experience attendees will be facilitated by Consumers of Mental Health WA. This session is to provide a place for consumers to reflect on the workshop and have their voices heard in further detail by the consumer peak body.
