Mental Health Commission

Immediate Drug Assistance Coordination Centre

In line with the Methamphetamine Action Plan Taskforce Final Report and the Western Australian Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug Services Plan 2015-2025, the Immediate Drug Assistance and Coordination Centre (IDACC) is in development. The IDACC is the first of its kind, offering immediate and coordinated access to care to people facing crises related to alcohol and drug use, along with their families.

The IDACC comprises five service components, with two currently operational:

  • Here For You, a free telephone service for anyone in Western Australia concerned about their own or another person’s mental health issues and/or alcohol and other drug use. Here For You operates 7am to 10pm, every day
  • The Drug and Alcohol Clinical Advisory Service, a telephone service providing clinical advice to health professionals working with people experiencing AOD issues. This service operates 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.

The remaining three components will form an IDACC Facility in Perth city:

  • A 24/7 drop-in hub
  • Short-term crisis beds
  • An Assertive Outreach and Care Coordination Team

The IDACC Facility will be delivered by a non-government organisation and is expected to begin operating in early 2026.
