The Guide supports leaders and decision makers to:

  • create safer, more inclusive and resilient workplaces and communities
  • recognise and influence how their policies, services and workplaces can promote safety, wellbeing and trust
  • embed trauma-informed principles across an organisation’s culture, systems and services.

Development of the Guide was led by the Mental Health Commission in collaboration with the Department of Communities, Department of Health, Department of Justice, Western Australia Police Force, Department of Education, the Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia, and people with lived and living experience perspectives. It was also informed by targeted consultation with government and non-government stakeholders.
