The Mental Health Commission, Department of Health and Health Service Providers have announced a Statement of Commitment to long-term, transformative culture change across Western Australia’s public mental health and alcohol and other drugs systems. 

This milestone marks a significant step forward in implementing key recommendations from the Independent Review of WA Health System Governance (IGR), recognising the importance of Lived Experience (Peer) workforces.

As part of this, Lived Experience Inclusion Plans (LEIPs) will be developed to build on the important work already underway across each agency.  

The plans will prioritise the organisational readiness actions required to create safe and supportive environments for a thriving Lived Experience (Peer) workforce and prepare and support sustained organisational culture change.
