Mental Health Commission
The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) has been appointed as the service provider for a new 10-bed Step Up/Step Down (SUSD) service in South Hedland.
SUSD services provide support for people experiencing mental health issues, in a home-like setting close to their community, friends and family.
The South Hedland SUSD service is a key step towards addressing the need for more flexible, residential-style community-based mental health service options in the Pilbara region.
WACHS will engage an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service(s) and/or Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation(s) to deliver psychosocial and/or clinical support services.
The new SUSD service will be located on Colebatch Way, South Hedland.
