The new Karratha Step Up/Step Down (SUSD) service has opened, providing a boost to mental health care in the Pilbara. 

The purpose-built service will offer residential suppport for up to 28 days for people aged 18 and over. 

Each resident will have access to an inidvidual unit along with shared indoor and outdoor spaces for social and therapeutic activities. 

The SUSD model assists people to avoid hospitalisation and safe transition back into the community following a hospital stay.
