Mental Health Commission
The 2025-26 WA State Budget will deliver more than $1.6 billion dollars to mental health, alcohol and other drugs services – an increase of 5.61 per cent (approximately $85,021,000) from the previous year.
Key initiatives in the 2025-26 budget for mental health and alcohol and other drugs include:
- $39.5 million to partner with Ngala to deliver no-cost public access to the Ngala Residential Parenting Service.
- $13.8 million for the establishment and implementation of the Bunbury Acute Care Response Team in the South West.
- $12.2 million for the establishment of a Virtual Infant Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (VICAMHS) hub.
- $12.4 million for the establishment of a residential alcohol and other drugs low medical withdrawal and adult rehabilitation service in the Great Southern region.
- An additional $11.3 million in 2025-26 for a 12-month extension to the Active Recovery Team (ART) pilot program.
- $9.9 million to increase community access, strengthen links to Kalgoorlie Regional Hospital, and build capacity to support higher acuity consumers for the Kalgoorlie Step Up/Step Down service.
- $10.8 million for Kimberley Health Initiatives, including $8.8 million for the planning and establishment of the Derby Wellbeing Centre.
- $5 million to support the planning and development of WA’s first residential eating disorder facility.
