Get out there and Act Belong Commit!
The latest Act Belong Commit campaign was launched today, with almost $2.5 million provided this year through the Mental Health Commission and Healthway.
The campaign features an endearing and motivating young man, who gets off the couch and shows the different ways that you can look after your mental health and get involved in your community, from catching up with friends to activities like exercising your dog and gardening.
The Act Belong Commit campaign has been successfully promoting positive mental health and wellbeing for Western Australians for the last 12 years. The population-wide program is underpinned by supportive strategies implemented throughout the community, with targeted partnerships for specific groups and locations.
The campaign has been revitalised to reflect the current challenges faced by Western Australians due to COVID-19, including an emphasis on supporting vulnerable members of the community.
There are tools and ideas for people to improve their mental wellbeing available at actbelongcommit.org.au to connect people with groups, activities, and volunteering opportunities near them.
Parliamentary Secretary the Hon Alanna Clohesy MLC represented the Deputy Premier and Mental Health Minister at the launch of the campaign and spoke about the State Government’s commitment to mental health and wellbeing.
The Government recently announced record funding of over one billion dollars for the Mental Health portfolio in the 2020-21 State Budget.
The new Act Belong Commit media campaign launched today, Wednesday 21 October, and will run across multiple media channels Statewide.
