Become a parent volunteer and help support others

Published on 9 Feb 2017

The Parent and Family Drug Support Line is currently recruiting for new parent peer volunteers to join its existing team. If you can spare 4 to 5 hours a week and have experienced your own son or daughter's alcohol or drug use problems, then the team would like to hear from you.

The Parent Support Network is a vibrant group of parent volunteers who have been providing telephone support to WA parents for many years. Parent peer volunteers receive free training, support and ongoing supervision, as well as opportunity to access current information from leading experts within the sector.

If you or someone you know are interested, live in WA, have had experience of a child with alcohol or drug use problems and wish to apply for a volunteer position, please email parentdrugsupport@mhc.gov.wa.au and ask for a Volunteer Application Pack. All information is treated with respect to your privacy.  Details are never shared with anyone.

Applications will close by the end of February for training to commence at the end of April.
