Survey Opens - Neuropsychiatry Disability Service in WA

The State Government is committed to establishing a specialised service for people with cognitive, intellectual or developmental disability (including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)) who experience mental health issues. 

The Western Australian Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug Services Plan 2015-2025 identifies two gaps in specialised care in the mental health and alcohol and other drug service system and calls for the establishment of the following two specialised service streams:

  • Specialised neuropsychiatric treatment services in Western Australia; and 
  • A specialised service to meet the needs of people with co-occurring mental illness and intellectual, cognitive or developmental disability, including ASD.
